The Red River Parish School Board is recognizing its Employees of the Month for January and February. Both were presented their plaques at the school board meeting on Monday night.
The January recipient is Kenyotta Williams who was nominated by Principal Shenell Deville of the elementary school. Deville said in the nomination statement that Williams “is an exceptional 2nd grade teacher. She is commended for her drive to develop herself as a teacher and mentor.”
Williams is completing her Masters Degree with a focus in reading. She has plans to become a Reading Specialist. Principal Deville said, “When it comes to a ‘Highly Effective Teacher’ Mrs. Williams is definitely the model teacher.”
Williams was presented her award at the February board meeting. It was delayed from January due to scheduling conflicts.
And the February recipient is 6th grade teacher Ronnie Williams from Red River Junior High. He is a social studies teacher and is a co-sponsor of the BETA Club.
Williams was nominated by Principal Mike Peter. He said, “This year, Mr. Williams has been working very hard to adhere to a changing Social Studies curriculum. This has forced ho to change his teaching methods to meet the needs of the students. He is a champion in this task.” Peter added that Williams “is a team player. He will step in ad step up when asked.”
