The Council on Aging is notifying its members that the Food for Seniors distribution is being delayed until late January. The original date had been January 8th.

Executive Director Liz Cannon told The Journal that there were technical reasons for the delay growing out of the holidays. Cannon said, “Everyone who is eligible will be able to pick up the Food for Seniors box on January 29th. Hours are 8:30 to 11:00 am.”

This is the time of the year to re-certify for the food distribution program. Bring your proof of income and other documents to the Council on Aging and get signed up. And if you are qualified but not currently certified, you may do it any time. Call Regina Horton or Peggy Young at 318-932-5721 for more information.

The Council has posted the distribution dates for the remainder of 2018. In addition to the January 29th distribution, Food for Seniors boxes will be distributed on the second Monday of every other month.
