Visitors Greeted By New Welcome Sign

RRPJ-New Sign BOTTOM1-17Nov3

The new welcome sign is up greeting residents and visitors to our town. The prior sign was destroyed by a storm several months back.

The Coushatta/Red River Chamber of Commerce paid for the sign. The Town of Coushatta erected it. Unlike the old sign, this one is made of metal. It is constructed in 5 panels so it is expandable in the future.

There are more local sports figures named on this sign. The sign says “Home of Champions” and names Joe Adcock, Clint Courtney, Vickie Johnson, Bennie Logan, Paul Frazier, Ed Watson and Johnny Ray Norman.

So next time you are coming across the Red River, slow down at the 4-way stop and admire our new welcome sign.

  1. So, I think it would be good if the Journal would give us a little story (perhaps with the help of Joe Taylor) about each of the names on the sign.
