Sheriff Glen Edwards would like to congratulate the 44 participants who recently completed the Louisiana Hunter’s Education Course! Following two days of classroom activities at the Grand Bayou Resort Event Center, the students finished with a field day at the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) Firing Range.

The course was led by instructors Captain Tracy Scott, Lt. Roger Longino and Sgt. Johnny Tingle all of the RRPSO, Trooper Melvin Massey of the Louisiana State Police and Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) Director Shane Hubbard.

Earlier this summer when it was learned that the local VFW Hall would no longer be able to host the training, Grand Bayou Resort stepped in and graciously opened its facility for this year’s class.

A special thanks to Grand Bayou Resort for use of its event center, the instructors for volunteering their time and the VFW for all of its support in past years!
