Vacation Bible School Wrap-Up

RRPJ-VBS TOP-17Jul5

This past week Vacation Bible School was held at several area churches. Children attending had fun while learning about the message of the scriptures.

Kay Norred sent the Journal this report from Social Springs:
There was much joy in the air throughout last week at Social Springs Baptist Church. Eleven decisions were made to accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior. VBS Staff Members declare this was one of the best Bible School Themes ever! The Bible content was about learning to have a relationship with Jesus, the music was absolutely out of this world, and the kids were eager to bring in offerings to help provide shoes for children around the world without any. Friday’s Family Night Commencement Program proved to be quite a celebration! Many thanks go out to the parents who allowed their children to take part, and to all workers for making this such a pleasant and productive week. May God Bless You All! Social Springs Baptist Church would like to extend an invitation to join us for weekly services.

At First United Methodist Church the theme was “Paul and the Underground Church.” The role of Paul was played by David Beard who was chained to a Roman guard representing Paul’s imprisonment in Rome. Children visited Paul in his jail and went to an “underground church” before visiting the Roman Marketplace (for arts and crafts and food) and the Olympic Games. Between 35 and 40 children participated each evening Monday through Thursday.

Vacation Bible School was also held at Open Door Fellowship and Fairview Baptist Church.
