Red River High School has a new head football coach. Scott Hale was introduced to a crowd of parish residents, elected officials, teachers and staff, athletes and parents gathered in the high school gym Thursday afternoon.
Hale was selected from over 20 applicants for the job. He begins coaching at spring football practice today (Friday May 5th).
In his acceptance remarks Hale said, “I’m so glad to be back. This is home. This is where I wanna be because Red River has so many great athletes.”
Hale’s philosophy is to develop in players a work ethic based upon toughness, discipline, faith, moral character and integrity. And he promises to begin in the classroom with a strong emphasis on athletes being students first. He described his program as “win in the classroom then win in athletic competition.”
Coach Hale summed up his philosophy by saying, “our kids will be accountable, and I’ll be accountable, and it will happen.”
